Chúla Hands-on Tamales Workshop 

 

Come and learn the family tradition of tamale-making with Chúla chef and owner Katherine Gonzalez!

This is a hands-on tamale workshop –  real masa, corn husks, and tamale filling.

Learn how to make masa from scratch, fill the corn husks, wrap and tie each little pouch of deliciousness! Make them to take home, then eat freshly prepared tamales onsite at the end of the workshop.

Note: All tamales made in this workshop are gluten free!

 

Tamales Menu:

 

Butternut Squash, Applewood Bacon and Caramelized Onion

Red Chile Pulled Pork

Pumpkin Pecan, Tres Leches

 

$55 per person

 

Additional housemade salsa purchases available in-class.

 

You get:

  • 1.5 to 2 hours of in-class instruction with Chula owner and chef
  • Two tamales from each of the three varieties made in class to take home (six tamales)
  • Take-home recipe and steaming instructions
  • A meal of freshly prepared tamales in the restaurant at the end of the workshop
